If I had to build a team from scratch, this would be my dream team from the portal.....

Jameer Nelson, Jr.
6'1" Senior Combo Guard
Delaware

Graham Ike
6'9" Junior Center
Wyoming

Taran Armstrong
6'5" Sophomore Point Guard
Cal Baptist

Jamison Battle
6'7" Junior Small Forward
Minnesota

Walter Clayton, Jr.
6'3" Sophoore Combo Guard
Iona

Keshon Gilbert
6'1" Sophomore Point Guard
UNLV

Jackson Paveletzke
6'3" Freshman Shooting Guard
Wofford

Teafale Lenard
6'7" Sophomore Small Forward
Middle Tennessee

Damian Dunn
6'5" Redshirt Sophomore
Temple

Lazar Stefanovic
6'7" Sophomore Shooting Guard
Utah

Andrew Rohde
6'4" Freshman Small Forward
Saint Thomas

Denver Jones
6'4" Junior Shooting Guard
Florida International

Reese Dixon-Waters

All of these players are rated between 92.00 and 97.00 and would make one heckuva team.  FWIW, Rienk Mast, of Bradley has a 92.00 rating.

Ben Krikke of Valpo is now in the Portal. Probably not too surprising since their head coach just got let go.

Interesting seeing Miami, UConn, FAU, and SDSU in the Final 4.  At least 3 of those teams, I know, are in it way deep with NIL deals surrounding their players.  The only way this all stops is one team has to do it another way and to show everyone else that trying to compete with large Universities on these NIL efforts are not the only path to win a championship.

And I am certainly not suggesting that THIS is the right way, but it is certainly A way (https://m.fau.edu/signed_in/device/large-spider/news/detail?feed=university_press&id=4525b770-bade-5e13-b39f-586e403d23ac). I don't think Racer Club contributions are even going to scratch the surface to stay competitive in this landscape.  ADs with corporate affiliations may be something that needs to be considered in the future.

If one of you tightwads would just turn loose of $1 million in cash like Miami booster did to get the Nijel Pack kid to transfer from Kansas State, we could really go somewhere.

I know this ain't no fairy tale. It takes money for programs to be successful. The NCAA tourney has always been about money. Players want to turn pro after they leave college and make a lot of money. Coaches want to make a good salary. But, making it legal to pay any player while they are still competing in college sports just blows my mind. I'm just disgusted that a college education has basically no meaning for players anymore. Every time I read about players entering the transfer portal with a dollar amount attached to their name it makes me feel like I need to go take a shower.

DJ,

I hope you stay but if you choose not to, you have been an exemplary ambassador for the University and an absolute fan favorite.

I wish you nothing but success in all of your future endeavors.

Thank you!

I wish him well. I'm very glad to see him honoring the impact God has had in his life.

Why even make them go to class? They are more like employees of the school than students if they are being paid.
