Meanwhile Russell from SEMO had to serve a 1 game suspension for excessive technicals, all of which came from mouthing off. There must be something in the OVC bylaws that triggers a suspension for excessive technicals but kicks outright violence back to institutional discretion.

I was curious about the crowd too. So I looked at announced attendance from ESPN. 968 for this game. 1650 for the Wednesday USI/SIUE game. No other numbers posted.

Refs should have stepped in 15 seconds before the punch, some of that is on the officiating. No way that kid should have been on the puncher like that. Not an excuse for the punch, but it should have been broken up before it got there. They had a tangle at the end of the previous play that led directly to this.

I agree that the referees should have been on it, but the guy with his hands up was walking up the court and the antagonist was in his face the whole way. He didn't like that the guy continued walking up the court so decided to jack his jaw.

At least that's how I saw things unfold.

Others may have seen it differently.

Either way, dude shouldn't play another minute.

Yes, should not be playing any more. But looked to me like the punchee immediately went up on him on the way back, raised his arms up, and leaned into him. Could be the other way though, and the puncher eased into him and slowed his progress up.

The Championship game has turned out to be a thriller. TT finally gets a lead late in the game, then back to SEMO, back and forth, SEMO goes up 7 with 70 or so secs left, and then loses it. TT ties at the buzzer, and it's OT!!! Wow!

Congrats to Morehead. Big win over Clemson in the NIT. How on earth did they get an NIT invite? Massey ratings had them north of 200. I figured I would see Belmont or SIU in the NIT before Head. I guess we just were not interested in a pay for play tourney? CBI has 2 or 3 teams with bad records in their field. Did we not want to play in the CBI, or, did they not want us?
