I agree. TSU is a good team. Hope he keeps mixing up the defense and changing the lineup.   If nothing more than to send a statement or keep the other team guessing.   Only complaint is i with Grace and Taylor had got a few more minutes also I would have let Thomas play the final 2 minutes of 1st half after Brion got his 2nd.  He had played the entire half and was fouling while trying to defend because of fatigue.

Also miller has to start jumping for rebounds and grabbing the ball with both hands instead of tipping it.  He is the biggest man on the floor played 27 minutes and had 3 rebounds.  Don't see how that happens.

Excellent rebounding fundamentals by his TSU counterpart who did a masterful job of sealing him out of rebounding position.

I agree for the most part. I liked the changing defenses, occasional pressing, and changing up he starting lineup. I do think Stark needs to grab a couple minutes, use the media timeouts to get him a breather here and there. I also would have benched Miller at the end of the game, he came VERY close to getting a T called with about 20-30 seconds left that could have put TSU right back into the game. Other than that   for McMahon.

I'd also give some credit to Gee McGhee. His hustle plays of the offensive rebound on a Sanchious missed FT and then drawing a charge soon thereafter created a definite spark. He then went down to Dupree after his T, put his arm around him, and talked him down. That is the "glue guy" mentality we need.

I'll give Bryce a nod as well. He was all over the court helping players up and calling the team together to huddle afterwards.

Stark was Stark, we'd be in a bad way without him.

Am I the only one who gives Demarcus F. Croaker the game ball? I thought he was the difference with Bryce right there.

I agree. Al three seniors stepped up today, if any one of them didn't, we all wouldn't be nearly as happy right now.  As Marshall said, now to build on the heart, effort, and teamwork it took to win this game.

I completely agree.  I think Croacker's block was the play of the game.

1-0 is better than 0-1 in conference play so I will take it, with that said the refs just called a foul on me typing this.

I did mean to include Croaker but was watching UW-Bama and got distracted   I love DC's drives and MAN he looked shot out of a cannon today once he came in. If he could develop a consistent mid range pull up jumper he'd score 30 a game, there is no one in the OVC that can stay in front of his first step on a drive.

Yep.  He came to play.  He and Jones made the difference in winning and losing by 15 today.

Croaker was an absolute killer on both ends today. If he brings that level of intensity every game, "we will be okay."

I would agree.  Croaker was THE difference maker in this game.  That might have been Croaker's best game in a Racer uniform - both offensively and defensively.

Tennessee State was better than advertised and are going to be a tough out in the tourney.  I still think they may be the best team in the OVC.  They definitely lost their composure and that was really a major factor in the outcome.  Hope they don't learn their lesson from this loss.

Sagarin ratings entering today: MTSU #65, Ill St. #66, Ole Miss #85, TSU #97.  As I mentioned in the game thread, I'm proud of what we did against these teams.  It's nice to see CMM and the staff getting credit for making good decisions.  Let's keep the momentum going.

I thought McGee did a great job in the leadership area.  That was a big difference.  He played well, but you could tell he took the senior position in counseling the team and keeping them settled.   That might have been one of the most important things that I saw in the game.  Croaker did what he has always been capable of.  One difference in his game was that he finished at the basket.  He never has a problem getting there, but in the past has left too many on the rim, or off the backboard.  He picked a great time to "show out", national tv and all.  Hope he continues in this way.  Bryce made me eat crow with his shooting, but with a win like that I will enjoy it.  Hope they can keep their focus, and give this much effort in the next game.  Obviously, players and coaches have been going at it hard.
