Other teams have made adjustments to our style of play. That's true. We have too much selfishness at times. We lack aggressiveness at times. All those things are true. We fell off big time after Myrtle Beach. Looked horrible at Drake and at Belmont. We have looked like a JUCO team at best the last 2 games. But, sorry to bring this up again, how were we so competitive in Carbondale and at home against Mo St and Belmont? Why didn't we suck in those games? I'm not looking at our record. I'm looking at our competitiveness in each game. I'm befuddled how we go from beating Bradley to getting embarrassed our last 2 games. Regardless of our record, this team has shown it can be very competitive against the better teams in this league. This is what is really frustrating for me, as a fan. Get a game or two where they compete VERY well against teams, then they just fall off. If they get to a good level, they seem unable to sustain it, and even lose it inside of one game. The maddening part is those games when they are competitive, as you can see they ARE capable of good things, and then watch them NOT do that against Bellarmine, MSU, or Drake. But, when Prohm had to recruit like he did, this can happen, and most of these guys are really not as good as we'd like, whether on ability or attitude.
It was tough to sit and watch a couple of years ago as MCM hit the .500 level with a team that should have performed better, and it's tough now, but I won't skip home games, and I refuse to get up and leave early. I'm sorry, but that is being a poor fan, or not a fan at all. Will go and support them at Arch Madness also, even if it is only one game. At least we're not Evansville???![]()

Quote from: Handicap on February 07, 2023, 08:48:35 PMThis coach and his staff just aren't it.I'm not going to say I agree. But, I'm not going to disagree either. I hope CSP is back on top next year. I do really like him. But I have some serious doubts running through my head. Like smidge is saying, it'll take a couple of years to see how things will unfold. I just think we have the talent to be better than we are right now. It's up to the coaches to adapt to the players and mold them into a team. Sometimes we are less of a team than we are just 5 guys running around wearing the same color jerseys.
He's lost the locker room and there's a reason he was unemployed when we approached him.
Look at Iowa state before and after Prohm, they're doing pretty well now that he's gone.
Quote from: jayinbama on Today at 08:53:28 AMYou can't out offense teams in the MVC.I think you're agreeing with what I've been saying. We do not match up well against teams that shoot 3's well. And, our offense is probably one of the easiest in the league to prepare for and defend. Most teams in this league are better than us from deep. I'm sure we will have better shooters next year. But, some of the guys we brought in this year were supposed to be good 3 point shooters. Everything fell our way last year. This year has been a struggle in many different ways.
