Miss Basketball Arnika Brown leaves UK

Kentucky Miss Basketball Arnika Brown has left the University of Kentucky before ever playing a college basketball game.

The former Christian County High School standout is transferring to St. Catharine College — at junior college near Bardstown — according to her high school coach Don Dillard.

"It is true," Dillard said in a phone interview on Monday. "She was a qualifier and was at UK for summer school. I think she just wanted to go somewhere smaller.

"She made her decision on her own."

The 6-foot-2 Brown averaged 24.7 points and 12.3 rebounds for Christian County as a senior. She led the Lady Colonels to Second Region titles as an eighth-grader, a freshman and a sophomore.

Back when he was at MSU Tevester Anderson said that the mass defection of players to the NBA would result in a mid-major making the Final Four. Some people said he was nuts but his prediction just came true.

It will be interesting to see what effect the new rule requiring kids to wait until they are 19 to go to the NBA has.

OK, Wednesday did not work out. No one showed, not even the guy who asked that we switch to Wednesday and promised he would be there. So, we are back to Tuesday for our regular nite and if someone can't come that's just too bad.

This game worries me since for what ever reason they have struggled in cookeville
