Men's Basketball / Re: Ja Morant incident

I don't think anyone discounts the fact there is some bad decision making involved.   I hate all the negative press.   When he was here he was very humble, polite and focused on basketball.   He has lost some of that, but I'm confident he is the same person and will get it all straightened out.    The first instance on a team trip was in my opinion exponentially worse than this last instance.   Still a dumb decision but no laws were broken.   Hope he gets his head back on basketball.

Boy I'd love to see Jacobi coming off the bench.   Don't see it happening though.

Does anyone have any idea of what next years roster will look like?  Or has anyone put together a list of what it will look like?

Going to look real bad if he makes All-MVC team.  Time will tell.   I think Edwards has a ton of potential.    Hope he does well.   Just not against us.  Lol.

Belmont wasn't going to pay him what his parents thought he was worth.  I would bet NIL played a big part in his decomittment

Just feels like we are scraping the bottom of the barrel.  I'd rather invest proven high school kids like Stacker and Edwards.   We will see how it shakes out.  I trust Prohm but another year like last year and that trust will fade quickly.

He is probably referring to the pro leagues.   He declared for draft and probably didn't get any offers.    He is going to prove them wrong next season.   Hope he does.

We have a great tradition and money in our athletic department.    We really need some corporate sponsors to invest in NIL money.  It's getting to the point the naming rights etc.  are going to be better spent on NIL than just a donation to athletic department.  I'm sure athletic department can't just pay directly.    Just going to take someone with some accounting knowlege and I bet we can come up with the million a year to spend on NIL.  The trick is doing it legally and I don't know what that path is.

Won't DJ have to sit out a year?   Didn't he already use up his transfer without sitting out?

The NCAA is no longer an amateur sports league.   It's a professional sports league.   We are now at a point womens players can make more money in college than in the WNBA.  Won't be long til the men are the same way. The only difference is they only have a few years of eligibility.   Once enough money begins moving around players will stay through their eligibility forcing more talent downward to mid major programs.   Maybe a solution would be to cut roster sizes down a couple.

It's the same in Major League Baseball.  Pitcher gets a save if he pitches 3 innings no matter the score.   As long as it's in relief and he doesn't get the win.

Do you have some inside information on a game changing transfer?  All I'm seeing are mediocre players on 3rd tier teams.  Now mind you I do think there are diamonds in the rough sometimes but haven't seen us in the running for top tier talent or a big high school recruit that sat on the bench at a power 5 school that may want some playing time.    Where are those kids at?

Maybe he can now do a few of the TV broadcast, especially the home games.  Seems like we had a merry go round of announcers.    Might as well let Neal do a couple big ones.

We need a different thread about NIL.   Everytime there is a post here I think it's transfer portal news.

Wow.   That was unexpected.   Pretty funny call, and yes NIL has reached new heights.
