Men's Basketball / Watching the Game Online

I have 5 meg service and usually average around 2....plenty fast. So far I have used the service to watch a couple of home games I couldn't make it to and they constantly buffered and were definitely a waste of $7.95.

Quote from: "cowboyracer43"Jackson State has played a much tougher OOC schedule.

Not according to Jeff Sagarin, though it is close. Sagarin has us with the 16th toughest schedule so far, versus 24th for Jackson State.

Quote from: "racerbymarriage"More importantly, if this is a transition or throw away season, what does that make next year, since we're only losing Spoon?

A full season with the same coach, system and a chance to actually recruit and evaluate, while acclimating everybody to the said coach and system?

Actually, I'd call Cronin's second season a "transition" season. The difference with this season is that it is under much tougher circumstances. To borrow a bit of the Racer Insider's lastest column:

"Cronin's best player wasn't trying to get the job done with a foot that ached and swelled every time he played. And although he had a number of new players on that team he also had three guys who had gone through a year of practices with him in Pearson Griffith, Trey Pearson and Keith Jenifer.

"Given what this year's team has had to go through I'm encouraged with the progress they've made so far."

Let any other D-1 team in the country go through similar circumstances as we have and see how they do in their league. We have to be patient and look for progress rather than perfection. To me this is what separates the tried and true fans from the bandwagon ones. I'm excited at the prospect of watching Kennedy build his own team from scratch and watching us rise up, as usual, to the top of the heap. Go Racers!!!

I never called it a "throw-away" season...you did. Yes we expect to win every game or why else play 'em? Good grief man. It is called being "real". That is sorely lacking by -- to borrow from Moline -- "armchair experts".

It is called a TRANSITION season. Give the man a full year to spend with his recruits and actually getting time to thoroughly evaluate new recruits.

A young team of unfamiliar players with a new coach and new system go on the road to "Death Valley" and take the game to OT. We are probably ahead of where we should be, IMO. If anybody should be griping it should probably be EKU's fans. I mean, they seem to be about as good (I'm using that term lightly) as anybody else in the league and we let that road game slip away. We'll be OK.

Quote from: "HighLightReel"In terms of the selection committee, are we not just 1-5? (Loss to Seattle-Pacific, Wins vs. Belhaven and Anderson)

I could be wrong but I thought games against NON-Division I teams did not count in terms of RPI or Selection Committee.

Although I am sure if you are on the selection committee, losses to non D-I schools don't look great.  Just wondering.

Wins and losses to non-D1 schools do not help/hurt our RPI. However, the selection committee will undoubtedly look at the entire picture when seeding. At this point though, it doesn't really matter what our resume is.....just getting the best possible seed for the OVC tourney and ultimately winning it is all that matters to this fan. No matter our seed, that would be a huge accomplishment for this basketball team.

Until Horn actually wins the one-bid Sun Belt conference and actually takes WKU to the dance two or three times, there won't be any offers.

Yep. If you have Mediacom. Here in Hoptown I have Charter and FSN is showing a report on Cleveland Cav basketball. I can find absolutely no internet video feed for this game since, I assume, FoxSports has the video rights.

Quote from: "runningracer"Are you Racer Lover?

No way. When have you EVER heard me be anything but supportive and loyal to my team? To whine and bitch that this team is somehow a "disgrace" is beyond my comprehension. Who was the idiot in the story that thought the sky was falling?

Cowboy, I know you are a "T" fan, so I excuse the racial allegations that have absolutely no place on this forum. Once again we have to beat the same old dead horse. T got the boot because our win/loss and conference finish steadily declined from the top to mediocrity in each of his seasons. Period.
