Didn't really expect more, but it's underwhelming, yes.

Pros: love the MTE, decent teams from decent conferences. Like the games against CUSA and MVC. Tough but winnable games throughout. Only one SWAC team. Amir Abdur Rahim comes back to Murray.
Cons: best home game is either a rebuilding SIU or a rebuilding MTSU. Non D1 games.

All told it’s a good schedule. Should have the guys ready for conference play.

Not a lot to be excited about but the Tennessee game and the tourney is promising. I know it’s a young team and blah blah but I thought if any year we might can get a bit more national attention going it would be this year.

Having SIU and MTSU at home is good for nostalgic fans.

I suspect more teams want to,avoid Murray after last year, imo. Only thing I don't like is Cumberland game. I could think of other mid majors I rather had but at the end of the day it comes, down to conference play. I am hoping we get a team or two,in the Showcase who have great seasons in,their conference.

I'm the same way about the Cumberland game. Sure wish we could get away from those types of games. However, I know it's hard to schedule big games over the holiday break knowing all the students are going to be gone. I like seeing UTK, SIU, and MTSU. Like many of you guys have already said, it will be important for the teams in the tournament to have good seasons to help our strength of schedule. But as all of us know it really only matters what happens in Evansville in March. Go RACERS!

so does anyone have an answer to why we are playing at JSU two years in a row beside the fact that the OVC office are full of dumbasses?

Neal Bradley said that when the conference schedule was planned out, it was over a six year rotation where every team played an equal number of home and away games with every other team.

Not sure when the six year rotation started. But also have to balance the schedule Home and away for every team in the conference.

I see your point but figuring out conference portion schedules should not be too hard, and and for us to be playing there 2 years in a row somebody at the ovc screwed up in my opinion

If goracers is correct (I can’t remember specifics anymore lol) we will have played them at Jax FOUR straight seasons (17, 18, 19, & 20) while they’ve played here once (18). Now tell me how that’s reasonable?

First year of unbalanced schedule 2011-12
11-12 Murray
12-13 Jacksonville
13-14 Murray
14-15 Jacksonville
15-16 Murray
16-17 Jacksonville
17-18 Murray, Jacksonville
18-19 Jacksonville
19-20 Jacksonville
Note that over the last four years we will have made four trips to Jacksonville, while they have made one to Murray.
So does Murray host Jacksonville for the next two years after this, or is this the OVC's going away present because they know we are going to leave?

There is zero excuse for us playing 4 consecutive years there with one trip from them in return but to say we got lubed up.

I guess that Jacksonville needs the revenue. Murray is a good draw. However, that costs us home games, and we average more than they seat when they sell out. I guess that is our sacrifice to help fund Jacksonville's football team.
