I agree. I've never seen him play, but looking at his stats he wouldn't appear to be an upgrade over any of the bigs we have on the roster already. Plus he's got to sit out a year and only has one year of eligibility left. It would make no sense to tie up a scholly for two years to get a one year player that comes off the bench. Hope he finds what he's looking for - that is always a tough situation when the coach that recruited you leaves and you're left dealing with an entirely new coaching staff.

I believe he is better than his stats would say (or at least I believe he will be) but that is very system dependent and, let me be really honest... I REALLY like the post players we will have on the roster in October. He has earned a chance to go somewhere where he fits and where he can start and play right away.

Yeah I looked he’s class of 2017 so he didn’t RS. He will sit one with two to play.

He is a nice player but my concern with him is he is not built to play the Racer style of play. I would have to see more where he could run up and down the court at a fast pace. You know be a Racer.

Vogt improved a lot from his freshman to soph season.NKU played a pretty up tempo game so it's not like he didn't have to run.He wouldn't be a 30 minutes a game player but few bigs are.This is all probably worthless conversation,he will probably go to a power 5 school anyway.

Being from Graves County, he would have more motivation to become a Racer than the average transfer, would he not?

I guess it's possible he ends up at a power 5 school, but most bench players for a mid major program that transfer don't leave to join power 5 schools. The safer bet is another mid major program or maybe a D2 program that allows him to play next year without sitting out a year. With 3 more years to develop (if he stays D1) he could end up being a solid contributor for someone, but like someone else said, I'm pretty happy with the bigs we have at the moment.

I heard that we didn't recruit him at all out of high school but don't know if that's a fact.If it is ,I really don't see much motivation for him to come here unless he just wants to play close to home.If he were to come here,I think he would have no problem getting playing time.We do lose 2 Biggs to graduation next year.7 footers who can play are not a common commodity.He will be highly sought after IMO.

Playing in the foul prone OVC we need more than 2 big men "locked in". Gilmore is more of a wing than a post.

Just food for thought... God forbid but if next year KJ goes down with an injury or if Demond is foul happy, then what? I'm extremely happy we have guards out the wazoo and small ball may work in the OVC, but it won't get us to the next level. Just my honest opinion.

Even if Vogt does sign on here and plays a reserve role, that would be a possible 10-15 minute break for a starter.
