2015 6'0 G Matt Trpcic lists McMaster, UofT, New Mexico St, Murray St, and Florida as schools showing him early interest. @CROWNmagazine
== http://crownmagonline.com/recruiting/po ... standouts/
Matt Trpcic (6’0 PG, 2015, MacNabb) – Trpcic was simply outstanding as a floor general. He possesses great ball IQ, communicates, has excellent court vision and a sound decision maker with or without the ball in his hands. He understands spacing on the floor, runs the offense, and is terrific while taking great care of the rock. Trpcic tends to make all the right plays either on a half court set or in transition. He shoots it at a high rate from the 3 point range when open and has his feet set. Trpcic is not a great athlete but makes up for it with great basketball IQ, leadership and a skill package at the point position. He went for 27pts, 8asst and 0 turnovers in a win vs Oakwood. It was a killer weekend for him. Excited to see how his game evolves.

Dwayne Bacon, 6’5 8th forward, Lakeland: Bacon is skilled for a player his age and size. While a bit thin, Bacon has good ball skills, can shoot quite well to eighteen feet, and finishes at the rim with contact. He’s also has a long wingspan as well as a quick and explosive first and second leap. This makes him an effective shot blocker and rebounder at both ends of the court.

Corey Sanders – 6’0 – Class of 2015 – Lakeland McKeel Academy: If Sanders can keep a level head and work to be the best he can be, he will be the top point guard in this class. His combination of athletic ability, aggressiveness, and competitiveness are tough to match. Sanders much prefers to drive, absorb contact, and finish at the rim than shoot jumpers. However, we’ve seen him shoot successfully from past mid-range so that shouldn’t be an issue. Sanders plays taller than he is because of his explosiveness both horizontally and vertically. He frequently grabs long rebounds and pushes the pace, either taking the ball all the way or giving it up to a teammate. Sanders is a good passer and solid on-ball defender.

Source:

2015 point guard Michael Green with Team Breakdown is already hearing from Murray State, Wyoming, Arizona, Miami and Florida State.
== http://www.sourcehoops.com/spring-expos ... nt-guards/
Feb 27, 2012
Michael Green – 5’11 – Class of 2015 – South Plantation: Green was one of the quickest and fastest players with the basketball at the event. The lefty can blow by just about anybody off the bounce and get to the rim before defensive help can arrive. He is also capable of connecting on jumpers from mid-range and beyond. When we’ve seen him in the past, Green has been a very effective passer and got his teammates easy buckets. On this day, he was too often guilty of trying to audition for the AND 1 tour with over-dribbling in place and then launching an ill-advised shot. The physical tools and basketball skills are there. Green just needs to tone it down a bit.

April 13, 2012
Mike Green, (FL Family), 2015 5’11 PG – South Plantation: This is a kid that you will hear us talk about a lot because he is that good. We caught Green in action playing with the 17u squad and he fit in nicely. The knock on Green is that he can be too flashy at times. In my opinion, his ability to make plays that other guards can’t make is mistaken for “flash”. He can get to any spot he wants on the floor and has great court vision. I think it is safe to say that Green has solidified himself as one of the elite freshman point guards in Florida.

This recruiting stuff is making me unpopular out here on the high plains. The Pokes are after a lot of the same kids as the Racers. Since both schools are "defense first," that little fact says a lot. COACH is on the right track and is winning these 'mini wars.'

Source: http://xofan.com/basketball-2/mvc-baske ... -blakeney/
“I’m Catholic, so I like Notre Dame, and I like Miami-Florida too,” Antonio Blakeney told XOFan. “I’m also hearing from Boston College, South Florida, Central Florida, George Mason, Jacksonville, and Murray State.”

Antonio Blakeney, Cardinal Mooney, 6’3, SG, 2015
Team Speights
Smooth and efficient perfectly describe the freshman guard from Sarasota who was on loan from E1T1 16u this weekend. His mid range game and shooting stroke was on point most of the weekend. He went on a personal 8-0 run in the championship game to breathe life into a team that seemed uninspired until that point. Blakeney finished the game with 18 points. A commitment on the defensive side of the ball is the next step in Blakeney reaching his potential as an impact player.

2012 Super Soph Camp Top Prospects, Written by Van Coleman, Wednesday, 06 June 2012 20:54
Antonio Blakeney 6’3 PG Sarasota, FL Cardinal Mooney - Long, lean, athletic point with the ability to pull up from midrange or step out to 3-point range. Strong rebounder with a quick first step and the ability to create his own shot. Good passer and floor leader who knows how to play. Quick jumper.
http://xofan.com/basketball-2/big-ten-b ... -interest/
6-3 rising sophomore combo guard Antonio Blakeney from Sarasota, FL Cardinal Mooney and the E1T1 program has seen his school list grow this summer.
“I’ve had a number of new schools show interest,” Antonio Blakeney told XOFan. “The new schools on my list include West Virginia, Ohio State, Miami (FL), Boston College, and Virginia.
Couple that group, with Notre Dame (early leader since he’s Catholic), South Florida, Central Florida, George Mason, Jacksonville, and Murray State to give him a lot of options at this early stage of recruiting.
Blakeney can knock down jumper to three and uses it to set up drive, that he finishes with pull-up jumper or with bounce at the rim. He is a good passer and has good court vision, recognizes the double team and kicks it to open man.
School of Interest: West Virginia, Ohio State, Miami (FL), Boston College, Virginia, Notre Dame, South Florida, Central Florida, George Mason, Jacksonville, and Murray State
Rating: ESPN: 4* Grd-89

Courtney Williamson (E1T1), 2015 6’4 WF – Orlando Olympia: He was in attack mode from start to finish. Williamson loves to get to the rim where he uses his athleticism to jump over defenders. Improvements in ball handling and consistency on his jump shot will land him attention from the big boys in the future.

Newman was named ESPN's high school freshman of the year last year. He's a top five player in his class and is expected to do big things. I've talked to Newman a few times through my site and the kid seems pretty level headed......so far. The fame that comes with being a top five player in his class may eventually get to him, but if he even considers Murray State, I'm happy to hear that. As far as him REALLY coming to MKY; I consider highly unlikely. Would probably be the best prospect we've ever signed if we could pull off a miracle and get him though.

We have had some wonderful players over the years. Some show up at games and cheer. Some have devoted their lives to Murray. Some pledged a fraternity. Some married a college sweetheart and raised a family of Racers. Some have had a lifelong affection for Murray -- just like Smidge, Marshall and some of the old guys on this board. You can bet that the same affection is felt strongly by Marcus, Popeye, Jeff, Easley, Donte, Jewuan and Isaiah. Murray is home. Murray is family. Murray is not a day care. I would not trade any former Racer for a John Wall, Anthony Davis or any other One and done type. "Miracle?" I suspect that most who have spent a substantial portion of their life at Murray consider Murray to be the miracle. I suspect, finally, that you, Future writer, will one day share that image.

Hannif Cheatham, 6’3 wing: Cheatham is a lefty with a very quick first step to the basket. He has good ball-control, passes well on the move, and finishes with body control and contact at the rim. Cheatham is a good defender and has a lot of potential for the next level.

Cowboy,

You are absolutely correct! Murray is a home and Murray is where I started. Although I live in Paducah now, I've always dreamt of graduating from Murray State. The home life and hospitality that Murray presents is one of the most appealing things to recruits...in all sports. Just like all the guys that we sign to play basketball, I can't wait to step on campus one day as an official member of Racer Nation!

10. 1G Keyshawn Evans , Blanche Ely, Pompano Beach, Florida 5'10” 150
Source: http://courtcred.com/content/entry/soph ... t_shooter/
2015 point guard Keyshawn Evans has raised the eyebrows of a few college coaches after a solid showing in July. Miami, Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Murray State are just a few schools who have shown interest in this cat quick guard who can fill it up from behind the arc. Evans is at best when attacking the defense and finding the open man which he did during the Comin For That #1 Spot Showcase. Look to see more from this guard who reminds me alot of Tyus Edney.

== http://173.201.209.230/wordpress/?p=3825
Keyshawn Evans – 2015 5’10 PG – Pompano Beach Ely: Evans was very good for his team all day long. He’s a fast guard with the basketball, changes directions quickly when going at full speed, makes good passes on the move, and can knock down open shots out to the arc. We were also impressed with Evans’ foot speed and lateral quickness at the defensive end of the court.

Keyshawn Evans (Ely) 2015, CG, 5'10
Evans is one of the best scorers of the basketball in Florida's freshman class and he proved that again on Saturday. The combo guard is a sharpshooter from beyond the arc and can create for himself and others off the dribble. He looks to be the next in a long line of high level guards from Ely.

Michael Tolbert – 6’0 WG – E1T1 15U Elite: When viewed on Saturday, Tolbert was at his best. The Orlando Christian Prep product had it working at the rim, from mid-range and behind the arc. Tolbert is quick and crafty with the basketball and has a better understanding of running the pick and roll than most players his age. He can still get a little wild at times but he’s improving in that area as well
