Football Coaching Search

Post by OSRacer »

Has anyone out there heard any names related to the coaching search? Looking forward to hearing some candidates and their backgrounds. Pivotal hire.

Joe was a likable fellow, but tended to look the other way at times on discipline. That is what ultimately ended his program here, along with a 2-9 record in his final season. I would say he came out alright though, with assistant positions at Miami, and Alabama, twice. He is currently Director of Team Development with the Philadelphia Eagles, having served as Director of Player Personnel, in a previous stint under Coach Kelley. Observing the results of the Eagles this season, I would recommend that he keep his bags packed.

We need a new, young coach, who has the ambition to make this program successful.

Yeah I preferred Denver Johnson’s 3 straight 7-4 seasons to Joe Pa’s 30-37 record over 5 seasons.

There's only 1 college in Kentucky still playing this weekend. I'd suggest that may be a very good starting point.

I think it’s only fair to ask what your relationship to LW is? Serious question.

Just an example of the vast difference in football budgets between FCS programs and BCS programs, Joker’s salary for this season as wide receivers coach at Maryland was triple what we paid our HC.

I hear you man. I do know the cost of living in the DC area is crazy, along with the traffic and crime. Gotta be a culture shock to an old Franklin, Kentucky boy. I’m all in! #bringJOKErhome

Oh Smidge...It's your nation's capitol..Have a little reverence... Just kidding...Your right about the first two points but the crime issue depends entirely on what part of town you hang out in. In most parts of the metro DC area your pretty much okay. Of course there is the random killing here and there. not kidding..and MS 13.

The Maryland football program on the other hand is an absolute horror show. I have no clue what will happen to it but the goal of success in the future seems schetchy at best. The school joined the Big 10 because it was broke a few years ago abandoning the ACC which had a huge following in basketball and to a degree football. I dont know anything about the guy your talking about but Im sure he has had a more fun atmosphere to work in before he went to College Park, MD chasing his dream.

It appears you left out the most crime-ridden neighborhood in DC. You know, that strip along Pennsylvania Avenue from the 1600 block to Capitol Hill 8)

Virginia Tech: Longtime defensive line coach Charley Wiles will not return to the staff. Wiles has been at Virginia Tech since 1996.

Wonder of Coach Wiles is a candidate?
