I bet a buck that they will accept it vs paying the buyout. Fitting end to the season. Game they could have won.

Those guys gave it all against the co- champs. Man money talks, especially at this level. Good game to watch until the end

According to Ed Marlowe in the Paducah Sun last week, MSU has one of the lowest football budgets in the OVC. To me, THIS is the problem, not the coaches, not the players. If anything, it's impressive that the team won four games and was close to winning four more under those circumstances.

We should be embarrassed if this is the case, and to me explains our run of poor seasons for most of
this century. Those figures were from previous administrations, and I've heard people say that the new AD will go about changing that. I'm willing to wait and see.

Where will the cuts come from to up the football budget exactly? Or do we have a money tree I didn’t know about?

This is where I hope the AD has a trick up his sleeve!

But as I've said before, if we absolutely have no other dollars to fund football on at least a middle-of-the-pack OVC level, then we don't need to have football.

I’m all for a winning football program if you can fund it without defunding somebody else. I’ve been wanting the sad sad amount we run a top-100 D1 basketball team on upped but my other hand keeps filling up faster.

Coach Stewart is out and will be reassigned within the athletic department.

I’d love to see the numbers of all the OVC programs myself, must have missed that tweet. Could explain why the majority of OVC schools’ basketball programs rank in the bottom half of D1. Judging by the EMBARRASSING 40 point deficit Jax State is down to Purdue middle of 2nd half, coupled with 6-6 football record this season, maybe they need to rethink things lol.

It’s been gnawing at me all night long what a batcrap stupid idea to sign him for 3 more years then fire him the next. Too bad there’s nobody left to fire that was involved because we don’t have a single dime to waste. Mad asf.

I was just told by somebody I trust that the interims gave Mitch an extension who’s terms don’t hurt us so I feel better about that. It’s basically not costing the department anything was the jist I was told so good deal sounds like.
