Might we have a better shot at this kid if he is in our backyard?

He will have a good coach in a good program. He seems like a good kid, so I hope everything else works out well for him.

Not Racer ball but...
Not Racer ball but Marshall County may have one of the best if not the best player in the state moving there this year, Zion Harmon. Read this on Bluegrass Preps message board.

Re: Zion Harmon to Marshall County
I would have said the same thing about Marshall County. Maybe he likes being the standout, and best player, hands down, on the team. We did have a recent lottery pick. Its worth throwing an early offer out there if he is that good.racerpower wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:01 pmWe have NO shot at this kid.RacerPreacher wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:41 pm http://vaughtsviews.com/2018/06/zion-harmon-makes-the-move-to-marshall-county-where-he-can-make-an-impact-in-a-lot-of-ways-on-and-off-the-court/

Re: Zion Harmon to Marshall County
He will probably move on from Marshall after this year when he sees the level of competition he will be going up against. Fan support is there for the most part, but nothing in this region to really challenge him. Or that may be why he came here to stack up the stats. He seems to be a very smart, well behaved kid but I just hope its not like a Ball family situation basketball wise.
My prediction... if he's not still at Marshall at the end of the season I won't be surprised.

His dad is a traveling nurse so more then likely the kid is going to be gone within the year.

Strange that you know where he will sign, This is a young man with talent that will go where he wants to. He might even wind up at some place that no one could predict at this time. Let him play and enjoy his high school years.

Re: Zion Harmon to Marshall County
To be honest I'd be willing to bet it has something to do with him wanting to reclassify and Marshall County probably makes that easier

The outcome of this case could have huge ramifications of kids moving to other schools to build championship teams. All you would have to do is claim it was not about athletics and it would make it hard for the KHSAA to prove otherwise. However, the private schools in Louisville and Lexington have been getting by with this kind of thing forever.

Re: Zion Harmon to Marshall County
So he has offers from an OVC school and WKU but nothing from us? We are 20 minutes down the road and have a legitimate NBA lottery pick. Couldn’t we throw an offer out there and invite him to some games? Who knows maybe he would consider it.

I think our coaches can recruit just about anybody they want after producing 3 NBA picks in a row.

Re: Zion Harmon to Marshall County
The case goes to Federal Court in Paducah today. I just find it strange that we have shown no interest in the kid when we are sending guards to the NBA every other year. The kid is 25 minutes down the road and we are not even looking at him.
Do the coaches see his Dad as an issue or do we really not see ourselves as having a shot at a 5 star? After what these coaches have done to produce three draft picks I would think they would have hearing from any guard in the nation.

I doubt our coaches are ignoring him. He is at a lot of our games. He seems to have become friends with some of our players. He was at the game tonight.
