We have tickets, but I haven't been told yet  . Peay won't sell us tickets down low behind the visitor's bench anymore. One year, we got 4 tickets down right behind the visitor bench. We get there, and there's only 3 seats for the 4 tickets; one of the listed seats was literally no longer there. They got me a fold-up chair, and I got to sit on the floor. It was awesome!

Go to Peay's website and go through their online ticket portal. You can view all available seating, and pick which seats you want.

That what I finally figured out for me and my boys. I think we are second row on the second level of setting. Probably right in the middle of a bunch of rabid Peay fans, but, that won't keep us from cheering on the RACERS loud and proud. :goracers:

From the numbers, it looks like we'll have to play 3-D basketball....

We'll need Devin, Demond and Daquan to play to a higher level to help balance out Peay's Abaev, Butler and Gee.

As in every big game against 2 evenly-matched opponents, the team that makes the fewest mistakes and has the superior defense will usually win.

We have to have the mentality of grabbing every rebound or blocking someone out.

Also, we need to push the tempo in transition and attack the rim. We are a fantastic team when we are playing transition basketball and highly efficient. When lulled into a half-court offense, we tend to struggle.

Should be another classic matchup between these long-time foes.

And.....

Did you know that only 60 miles separates these two schools???

In the Peculiarity Files.....

After 14 weeks of play, I find it interesting that not a single Murray State player has been awarded the player of the week, Freshman of the week or Newcomer of the week. :stars:

In juxtaposition, Austin Peay has been awarded one of these awards 18 times! :salute:

This despite Murray State leading the standings in the OVC.

I cannot remember a time when the top team in the conference never had a player awarded one of these honors.

This fact alone should make coach the front-runner for COY. :mic:

It comes down to how well we can guard Terry Taylor. They have a talented team, that can score in a lot of ways, but he is the key. I firmly believe we have someone who can guard him, and keep him from the type of game where he dominates the action.

This is easily the game of the year so far in the OVC. Austin Peay is favored by 3 points, but ESPN gives Murray State a 52.7% chance of winning.

I think this is a must win game for Austin Peay which I why I think they will get the win tonight in a very close game. If Peay loses they essentially have no shot at winning the regular season title this year and there is a very good chance they would get jumped by Belmont for the #2 spot by the time it is all said and done. Belmont is done with both Murray State and APSU, while APSU still has to go play at Murray State the final game of the year.

The 2 vs 3 game in Evansville will definitely be a dandy. The #1 seed is definitely going to have a major advantage this season. After the top 3 teams the level of play drops off quite a bit. EKU and TSU are decent, but they are not nearly as good as the top 3 teams this season.

Right now it seems like it will probably end up being
1 Murray State
2 Austin Peay or Belmont
4 EKU
5 TSU
6 EIU
7 Morehead State
8 Jax State

In this scenario I think Murray State definitely wins the tournament, especially if whoever the 3 seed ends up being makes the upset in the semifinals.

TSU has a playing style that translates well to back to back nights in tournament play. EKU less so. That doesn't mean that EKU couldn't win some in the tournament, but playing at a high pace in back to back nights is tough, especially if your bench is not the deepest. Also, nearly 42% of EKUs shots this season have come from 3, and tired legs tend to have trouble with 3s. (this is a worry I have about the Racers come tourney time as well)

That said, tonight's game is the biggest game of the season. Hope there is a good crowd of Racers ready to cheer the team to a win.

I decided to go through and pick all of the OVC games to end the season to see where I think everyone will fall. Here is what I got. Of course this will probably all fall apart tonight.

EKU > MORE
JSU > TTU
TSU < BU
UTM > SEMO
SIUE < EIU
MUSU < APSU

EKU < APSU
EIU > UTM
SIUE > SEMO
MORE < MUSU
JSU < BU
TTU < TSU

BU > MORE
TSU < EKU
APSU > SIUE
MUSU > EIU
SEMO < JSU
UTM > TTU

TSU > MORE
MUSU > SIUE
APSU > EIU
UTM < JSU
SEMO < TTU
BU > EKU

TTU < BU
EKU < MUSU
EIU > SEMO
MORE < APSU
JSU < TSU
SIUE < UTM

EIU > SIUE
SEMO < UTM
MORE < EKU
APSU < MUSU
TTU < JSU
BU > TSU

Final Standings - I assume NET is the second tiebreaker after head to head. That is how the MVC does it. I used current NET to determine tiebreaker.

1 Murray State (16-2)
2 Belmont (15-3) - Went 1-1 with APSU and has higher NET
3 Austin Peay (15-3)
4 E Kentucky (12-6)
5 TN State (10-8)
6 E Illinois (9-9) - Won head to head matchup with JSU
7 Jax State (9-9)
8 UT Martin (7-11)
--------------------------
9 Morehead (6-12)
10 TN Tech (4-14)- Won head to head with SIUE not that it matters
11 SIUE (4-14)
12 SEMO (1-17)

Tourment Predictions in this scenario:

#5 TSU beats #8 UTM
#7 JSU beats #6 EIU

#4 EKU beats #5 TSU
#3 APSU beats #7 JSU

#1 Murray State beats #4 EKU
#2 Belmont beats #3 APSU

#1 Murray State beats #2 Belmont

The OVC doesn’t use a ratings system to break ties. Head to head is first, then record against 1st place team, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

So if Austin Peay and Belmont tie at 15-3 in this scenario, I guess Belmont would still win the tiebreaker based off of a 2-0 record vs #5 TSU.

No their head to head would be looked at first and if tied still, then their record vs the 1 seed, Murray, would determine it. If same then records vs 4 seed EKU.

Okay I was assuming they both played EKU twice and both would sweep them. I guess Belmont would still get the tiebreaker (if APSU went 1-1 vs Murray) because of playing EKU twice vs the one time APSU plays them.

If I understand this right, assuming Belmont beats EKU twice, and APSU / MUSU split the series, the Bruins will own any tiebreaker over both Murray State and Austin Peay because of the unbalanced schedule. If the Racers and Peay somehow tie then Murray State will win the tiebreaker because of APSU's loss to TN State.

I think that’s right, except if Murray’s loss is to EKU and EKU finishes ahead of TSU. Then, Peay wins a tiebreaker against Murray. In that 3 way scenario, Belmont would win almost any tiebreakers. If Murray’s lost to Peay and EKU and Belmont wins out; Peay wins out except for split with Murray, I think Murray finishes 3rd. That’s why tonight is very important, but really all remaining are to avoid tiebreak with Belmont.
