The (5,085) figure is the gym capacity. Reported attendance was “A: 2,703”
I now see where my misunderstanding was.

I read this as:

"The *says under his breath* 5,085 *now I speak normally* figure is the gym capacity. Reported attendance was 2,703"

Or

"The ... I'm going to put this number in parentheses so that they know what figure I'm referring to ... (5,085) figure ... see now because I put 5,085 in parentheses you know what figure I'm talking about ... is the gym capacity ... another words I'm telling everyone the gym capacity is 5,085 ... The actual reported attendance was 2,703 ... So, they actually printed the gym capacity instead of the attendance...

But in actuality you were quoting verbatim. The fine print actually lists it as:

A: 2,703 (5,085)

And you were quoting the fine print verbatim including the parentheses.

And I think I have seen attendance figures given this way - actual attendance with capacity in parentheses.

Wow... this really took this thread off-topic.

Turnovers hurt us last night for sure. I'm thrilled to be 10-1 right now. Coming off our 3rd 10 game winning streak in the last what, 8 years? But, I'm shocked we have such a good record considering our inability to pressure the other team's ball handlers. We are minus 5 or 6 steals every game it seems like.

2 big games coming up. It helps we've seen TSU once already. After 5 straight games of scoring in the 80's and 90's, Peay has scored only 68 in 2 straight games. I hope that trend continues.

It was another poor call. I don’t think any of the 3 flagrant 1 calls have been more than a good basketball play without ill intent. But Belmont only scored the free throws and so it wasn’t a critical call.

The EIU one was more critical because of free throws and change of possession.

I thought we got several bad calls in the first half, Belmont got more bad calls in 2nd half.
It was clear in the replay that Anthony was going for the ball, not for the other player’s head. Their arms got tangled as they were coming down, and there was some contact. But not flagrant. Both players were heading to the same point on the court from slightly different angles, so there is going to be contact. All you have to do it follow the defender’s eyes in that play. Anthony was looking at the ball and trying to block it-a legitimate basketball play. If his eyes had been targeting the other player instead, then you have an argument intent to harm the opponent and thus for a flagrant foul. So yep, bad call that impacted the outcome of the game.

Flagrant 1, excessive contact and above the shoulders, I would say the above shoulders got the call, was not reason we got beat.

Every play has an impact on the outcome of a game. Some more than others.

Rook is the heart and the guts of this team. He plays every possession, on both ends, like the game is on the line. Taking him out effects more than just the stats.

Yep. That was my point. He should be playing with a flak jacket.
