How do I explain the first half of the UT game? Second half team was who played La Salle last night? That first half still has me scratching my head.

We are experiencing the growing pains we all knew to expect after losing an underclassman NBA lottery pick, same as last time. We Racer fans are starting to get used to that.

Something else to consider, any team we face this season that hits 3s at the clip both UT and LaSalle did will beat us too. Had either team struggled somewhat behind the arc we’re looking at another win or two right now. Of course, the question is how much of that is our perimeter defense and how much is tough luck?

I think it was lil bit of both. On a hot shooting night, you are going to win. They were smoking hot. If we would have carried over into the 2nd half, we would have shocked the Vols. That first half gave me unrealistic expectations for a young backcourt and basically a whole new system with Ja and Shaq gone. Now I’m settling back into reality and patience for our beloved racers.

Tev handling the ball so much is not a good sign. Not really in a “panic” lol, I just have my eyes open.
I think jayinbama is confusing panic with passion. I'm not panicking either, but there are some obvious weaknesses and differences from this year's team and last year's (besides Ja Morant).

I'm not saying that neither PG has to become the next Ja or Shaq, but it's pretty obvious that those guy's strengths are our weaknesses and those two PGs have to progress to at least 40% of their capabilities to be an effective offense.

The season is young and so are they. It will be fun to watch them progress and to see which one emerges. My hunch is it may be Chico, but DaQuan appears to be a better ball handler. Our best passing guard now is Cowart.

BTW - how about that half-court two handed pass to KJ for the slam!?!?!
