That's the way Dayton's is.
Floor for 2017 NCAA First Four at Dayton Arena best view I found quickly. Notice how close to ceiling the last row of seats are. We have a lot of wall left to work with to place a concourse under.

I was thinking the same thing. Reconstruct the entire upper level to permanent seating, with a full all the way around concourse underneath. Lower bowl, also reconstructed with corner seating, all retractable. That way they can still have the pontoon show, garden show, concerts, etc. It was my opinion that the upper level NEVER needed to be retractable to begin with. Finally, ALL seats need to be chair. Enough with the bleachers. No one and I mean no one enjoys sitting on hard ass bleachers vs a chair seat. New foor, scoreboard looks awesome, outside looks good. Let's make it a first class facility for the bread and butter event of the arena.

PS: as long as I'm ranting, can we get new events? The Globetrotters has been played out. So has the boat and garden show. How about WWE? More concerts besides country music?

I sat in the very top row of Conseco (now Banker's Life Field House) in Indy years ago. Believe me - I needed a Sherpa and an oxygen mask by the end of that climb. At least they served beer there. It felt like I was in a different zip code from the playing floor. The balconies in Bloomington at IU are just awful - I would rather watch a game on TV that sit up there. On the other hand, I remember going to hockey games at the old Checker Dome in St. Louis and sitting in the upper balconies. You were way up high with steep rows, but horizontally it seemed like you were only 20-25 feet from the ice. Pretty cool place to watch hockey.
What was the name of that hockey arena in St. Louis in late 80’s.?
The name changed from the Checkerdome (roof painted in black/white checkerboard patterns) to the St. Louis Arena sometime in the late 80's. The Blues played there until moving into their current stadium (in the mid 90's.
We called it something else when I lived there. Let me google it

WWE goes to the show-me center quite often. I’m sure Murray would be an excellent venue. I just don’t think the promoters do a very good job of trying to get concerts and other sporting events to come.

I agree. Still remember the 90's when MTV campus invasion came and we had more events. Not sure if it's a funding thing or what but besides Jeff Dunham 2 or 3 years ago there hasn't been much going on.

They don't sell beer or booze at the Bank - that seriously restricts the amount of $$$ to be made at concerts/events. If 4,000 beers are sold at $9 per, that's $36K in revenue, and probably $30,000 in profit that gets shared. More than likely that's your answer. Of course, if they use the same concessionaire that does the Racers games, they'll be lucky to sell 1,000 beers due to the long lines.

Just looked at the Show Me Center page. An arena similar to ours. They have WWE Live, Rodney Carrington, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live, an auto auction, along with basketball, a volleyball tournament, gun and knife show, etc. The CFSB Center...Globetrotters and basketball. Even their website looks better. Surely Murray can do better.

This thread started being about getting tickets to the Evansville game and went everywhere but. Any news on the tickets? I’ve already booked the hotel.

The way I read it, you can get center court seats at a reasonable location, for $45. The $79 price probably comes if you have the 30 dollar buffet, or get the tickets other than by phone.

Rupp arena selling upper level seats for $7 a piece tonight. Until we start selling out the bank I really don’t understand why we don’t do this. I have a family of five and would love to be at every game but can’t swing $65 and then barely see the racers play from the nosebleeds.

I understand that the prices of everything go up. Hell, I remember sneaking into the side door for free as a kid at the old Racer Arena. All that said, if the CFSB had all chairs and the upper level felt like they were part of the action instead of feeling like you're in the parking lot, oh and if concessions improve drastically, the price might be worth it. And I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion, but I'm not paying a dime to see an NAIA team. Ever.
