Coaches Pay

Post by JoeD » Mon Nov 04, 2019 5:05 pm

Pretty deep dive into coaches salaries in D1. I’m impressed with where Murray State stands (ties for 64th).

I’m intrigued by the clause in Matter Figgers contract about the coach getting any additional money for buy games over 215k. That’s almost like an incentive to play buy games.

Just a note that these do not count private schools like Belmont and Duke.

We are tied for 64th among the 119 schools they have data for, who knows where we rank along the remaining 230+? I think we should adopt Western’s $1 million buyout clause over our current 1/2 million $ one but I think we are good with our salary.

Yeah westerns is funny- no mention of a difference in payout for getting fired for cause or not. It’s almost as if they hired a coach with a shady track record...
