The concern here is the organic origin of the floating tissue. It had to
have detached from somewhere in the knee. The press is stating that it is
a "minor" issue, but is it?

Will it scare away the Grizzlies from drafting Ja?

It's all in the Lord's hands.

Arthroscopic is the simplest, non major "surgery" you can have. I had one done a few years back and was back going in about a month with very little to no pain. You aren't even knocked out for it. In my case I had scar tissue from a previous acl surgery and was nothing to worry too much about.

I trust Ja got good advice on this, and doing it now allows him to be ready when preseason starts. It also shows teams that Ja is a professional who puts an importance on doing things that need to be done in the offseason, instead of waiting for it to interfere with getting a good start. It is a minor surgery that is pretty common, and should not affect his draft status. It also means that teams will know the status of his knees, and that they are in good shape, and ready to go. In my opinion, since he doesn't have a history of knee problems, and may have been playing with it this way for awhile, doing it now will turn out to be a positive, and not a negative.
