I’ll take the road win myself.
Smidge, everybody is taking the win. A lot of us see very bad things happening in the future unless some kind of team offense comes back into the picture. I'm not giving up on Coach M. I stuck with him through the season two years ago and thought he deserved a chance to get it going. And get it going he did. I have faith that he can do that again. I just hope he doesn't take this win as an affirmation of what the team is doing right now.

I was simultaneously glad Payne got T’d up and really wished he’d gone ahead and punched that gel-haired ref right in his stupid OVC Ref face.

9 rebounds 5 points and I’m not sure how many blocks? He hasn’t got to play with the starters much so he should keep improving as he gets comfortable.
I'm happy with Gilmore's progress. Part of his future progress should include not taking any 20 foot jumpers unless the shot clock is down to 2. Seriously, he made a difference tonight with his activity in the paint. I hope he keeps getting more savvy as his floor time increases.
glad he is finally taking some of Brion's minutes. he showed Brion how to rebound tonight.

I’ve heard of people sleep walking. It seems like some of our guys might be playing in their sleep.

Although Payne is crazy, there wasn’t anything remotely close to a foul on a Racer on that play.

I listened to the beginning of coach's comments on the post game and I had to turn it off after he said he was proud of the effort tonight and thought they executed the game plan very well in the second half.

Ummm... I must have missed that.

I said it before but I saw a lot of body language in this game to show me we have no confidence.

A lot of mistakes that I would expect in November or December are with us now. Maybe I got spoiled because we exceeded expectations at the start and now our age is finally starting to show. We used to run Tevin off 2 or 3 picks and tonight I watched him disappear in to the corner and just stand on many offensive trips.

Not on the this season is doomed bandwagon or anything but we need a good reevaluation of exactly what we need to be doing to get this corrected over the next month.

This is simple. Too many turnovers, too few rebounds. Opponents have learned to cut off our showboat alley oop plays and passes down low. That leads to jacking up shots that are bad (Cowart shooting a three). Teams have simply learned to stop whatever we're running and we haven't adjusted. If you notice, the team gets off to very slow starts. Even against Bethel and TSU they got off to slow starts. I'm no coach and I know the players want to win. I don't have answers. I'm glad we won and glad we're tied for first. How we are still in that position is a miracle. We're going to have to win out and get a ton of help. It's possible, seeing as it's been a crazy OVC season thus far.

Yeah, I watched the replay and there was no foul there. I believe the announcers said the same thing. Coach Payne just wasted a T there. But glad he did it. Not sure we would’ve won if he hadn’t got teed up.

The past few games has reminded me a lot of Sip’s senior year...we have an All American on the court and other four players just stand around watching and waiting for something to happen. That year’s offense was miserable to watch...everyone standing around and Sip would have to throw up a contested shot with less than 5 seconds left on the clock. This year everyone is just watching Ja dribble through double and triple teams.
I was thinking the exact same thing.

They showed a replay and one of our players bumped the ballhandler driving down the lane. Could have been called, but wasn't. It was one of those things where they could let it go or not. I don't see how Payne could have determined that he was bumped from his angle at the bench.

Maybe he’s been learning from the OVC refs. You know, calling fouls when they are not in position to actually see.

On the Payne T,there was no foul except for the offensive player using his forearm to create space.I think that Payne knew at that point that they were beat and wanted to put it on himself. His players played a good game and he wanted the blame to keep it off them. When they went to the bench before the free throws he was pointing to himself like telling the players My bad.I kind of respect that.4 teams won't make the tourney and he's using psychology to try and make sure his boys feel good about themselves even after a tough loss.
