I am convinced of two things. Coaching and money make a difference. The OVC currently has some good coaches, and the teams that are willing to spend will always be on top, If we move to the MVC, we will have to increase our spending on basketball significantly. We will have to increase for not only more travel costs for all teams, but higher salaries, and budgets for recruiting. All of this in addition to fans not having as easy an access to regular season and tournament games. I would like for us to be in the MVC, but these things also need to be considered.

Dick Vitale, shockingly, just stated on air that Belmont and Lips deserve to be in the tournament vs an Indiana getting in. I almost choked when the king of the P5 conferences said that!

Oh, I saw somewhere that the MVC is a 16th seed this year, projected.

Actually,Vitalle has championed the smaller schools over the last few years.I cannot bear him as an announcer but he's not a p5 shill like others.

Vitale on our 2015 snub.
"Anytime you play Division I basketball and you win 25 in a row, you belong in the tournament," Vitale said.

At that point Jay Bilas played devil's advocate stating why the Racers didn't deserve the bid.

I agree. Love him or not, Vitale has been an advocate for smaller conference teams that he believes are deserving of ncaa bids.

Bilas is perfectly willing to overlook bad performances by schools that he thinks are better. Our team flat out stunk for a while that year, then they started playing ball. They were, in fact, a good team. Bilas is not willing to consider such things. As far as he's concerned, the Racer team at the end of the year was the same team that lost badly a couple of times in December. Now if it's Duke having a bad stretch early in the season, ..........well, it's obvious to all that they are a quality team who had a tough time early.

Saw one today and I can't remember where and I'm too tired to look it up now that had us a 12 seed playing the 5 seed Nevada.

This is the one I was thinking of. Possible second round matchup with Northern Kentucky. And Oklahoma would be a great winnable draw.

Katz has an interesting bracket that I’ll take. Has us a 12 seeds vs 5 Wisconsin in round of 64, then a 4/13 matchup with Va Tech/Liberty in round of 32 for a trip to Sweet 16 and probable matchup with the Kayuts.

I think Belmont should be in. And maybe I'm in the minority after the "infamous" Belmont tweet, but I hope they do get in. That's why a lot of Racer fans wanted Belmont to join the OVC back then and not another SIUE-type, Division II school. We wanted a solid program to help elevate the league. And that's what we got. Until the MVC comes calling ... Go OVC.

I am pulling for the conference to get paid, period. That tweet pissed a few of my buddies off and I get it, but it was an individual who made that idiotic tweet and likely a punk college kid and not the program.

Jerry Palm put them in his last four after Texas got beat by Kansas and fell to 17-16.

Out of all the 5 seeds I have seen Nevada is the last team I'd want to play in the first round. Their starting 5's average age is like 29

But if West Virginia somehow wins the tourney, which I hope to God they don't, that will burst that bubble. That would put in a team with 4 conference wins all year also.

I'm going to go on record and say Belmont is left out in the end. Too much craziness going on and I don't have enough faith in the committee to see a change in the selection process.

Nevada is toast in their semifinal match. Scored one basket the final eight minutes. Not sure what this does for Belmont, but it doesn't help them.

So B Lamont is ahead of us on seed line 75? Even though they have another loss?
