That makes sense. I forgot about his surgery before the season. Honestly, the 82 game season is ludicrous. Regular season should be 50 games max. The NBA runs from October to the middle of June, if your team makes the finals. It's like baseball. I don't watch baseball until August. Too many meaningless games up to that point. That's why the NFL is the most popular. 16 games. Bang. Done. Every game is important. Anyway, I'm rambling. The explanation was very helpful in proving that the season is simply too long. I just hope the minutes issue doesn't keep Ja out of the rookie of the year talk

I agree it’s hard to get into basketball that extends nearly to the July 4th holiday.

Hope he enjoys starting on a shitty team and never getting better as a player while not competing for minutes.

I wish Jalen well. I hope he has grown and matured. Has a lot of talent, but talent alone does not guarantee success. It had to bite last year as he watched the Racers season, that with the right work ethic and attitude, that he could have played a big part. Meanwhile he was replaced by someone that played just as well, and maybe better, and didn't see himself as the center of the universe. I would imagine he realized at some point during his sit out year that his attitude made it possible for two trams to improve by his transfer.

Why I will never give a dime to the NBA. I'm not spending the money to go and be disappointed because of load management. Jordan started all 82 games his rookie season. Average of 38 minutes as well. In fact, I see 9 seasons where MJ played every single game. I guess it's the coddle era because LeBron has only had one season where he played 82 games. And before anyone jumps on me, I'm not dogging Ja. His knee looks perfectly fine from the minor surgery he had. He sure isn't playing like he's favoring it. Load management has become a major, league wide issue. Say you're a Grizzlies fan, not diehard, but casual. You have absolutely zero reason to even go to the game tonight. This is why many consider the era of Jordan, Bird, Barkley, Malone, etc the pinnacle of the league. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. How much coin will the Grizzlies lose tonight because of that announcement?

Have a friend here in Murray that bought tickets, good seats, about a month ago to take his son to tonight’s game. Probably $150 for two seats and found out this afternoon after he was already in Memphis that Ja is out. Pretty devastating to say the least. Plus he skipped opening day of modern gun season. And gave away his seats to tonight’s Racers game. I guess the moral of the story is don’t plan on going to the second night of back to backs. Nothing you can do I guess but it’s infuriating.

I knew some of the fans would blame Ja. It's definitely not him. It's management from above. Fans are pissed.

Cameron Payne to play in China

Post by msusig1855 »

"Free agent point guard Cameron Payne is signing with the Shanxi Loongs of the Chinese Basketball Association, a source tells Nicola Lupo of Sportando.

Payne, a former first-round pick, has appeared in 153 total regular-season contests for the Thunder, Bulls and Cavaliers since the start of the 2015-16 season, but he was unable to secure a regular-season roster spot this fall. He was waived by the Raptors at the end of the preseason, after he was beaten out by Malcolm Miller for the team’s final roster spot.

In those 153 career NBA games, Payne has averaged 6.0 PPG, 2.5 APG and 1.8 RPG with a subpar .397/.331/.775 shooting line.

As Lupo explains, the 25-year-old will join a Shanxi roster that already features two import players in Jamaal Franklin and Eric Moreland. CBA rules dictate that clubs are permitted to carry up to four foreign players, but only two of them can be on a team’s active roster for a given game."

Who was that guy from Duke? He be in Ja's shade now. NBA all star next year, ROY this year. Us Murray fans knew exactly what was going to happen when Ja got that ball with 10 seconds to go.

Any guesses of what's up with Isaiah? I know he was going to China to play. From what I can find looks like it was the same team that Lester Hudson is playing on. A few posts on his instagram regarding China and his team there but I have found no news. Nothing in the box score for the team I thought he was with. No minutes logged so far and not listed that I can tell. Saw something earlier that appears he is back in the states. Any one know anything?

Ja just had to be helped off the floor after an injury... didn’t look great, hopes for the best!

Anyone want to bet on who will actually win the popularity contest of ROY? Same as MVP, Heisman, etc.

I've tried to watch every game so far. For Racer fans that haven't been watching, you're missing it. I'm a Grizzly fan now.

I'm hoping in five years from now, he's still injury free, playing even higher level ball. If so, he won't be in Memphis. He'll eventually go to a big market franchise.

I tried watching a few games. The rules or lack of rules and rules for some and not others and tons of replay reviews is enough to drive one nuts. Seemed more fun to watch in the 80s and 90s.

Ja posterized Aron Baynes, a 6'10 Australian guy that plays for the Suns, last night. Quentin Dove feels a bit better about himself now.
