On another note, could we continue using this thread for news regarding former racer basketball players ?

I think it would be easier to keep things in one thread if the administrators made it a sticky topic which means it will always be listed near the top. Otherwise, it will be lost in the shuffle after several hundred more posts.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Former Racers - Tony Easley

OVC in the news again in Europe

From http://www.eurobasket.com/Turkey/basket ... sID=287155

Dinamo Banco di Sardegna - Galatasaray 88-77
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna and Galatasaray played a friendly game yesterday. The Italian squad was the host, but it was Galatasaray who celebrated 88-77 victory in this meeting.Henry Domercant (194-G-80, college: E.Illinois) stepped up for the guests with 24 points. David Hawkins (194-G-82, college: Temple) scored 16, Cenk Akyol (198-G/F-87) had 15, while Ersin Dagli (203-F/C-81, agency: Interperformances, college: Alabama) and Jamont Gordon (193-G/F-87, college: Mississippi St.) netted 12 points each. In defeat, Tony Easley (206-F-87, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Murray St.) led the scorers with 19 points. Marvis Thornton (194-G-77, college: St.John's) followed with 15 and Giacomo DeVecchi (196-F-85, agency: Players Group) stopped to 9 pts. Second quarter was the crucial one in this game. The hosts made 21-19 lead in the first ten minutes, but Henry Domercant and his teammates drained 24 more points until the halftime, while they stopped Dinamo to 12. It means that Galatasaray was holding double digit lead at the HT and they kept plus 8 after 30 minutes of play. In the last quarter Galatasaray was strong enough to keep its lead and actually to extend it even more. Before this game in Sardinia, Galatasaray played five friendlies in Bormio.

I didn't even realize Danero Thomas and Isaac Miles were playing ball still. I know Danero was an assistant of sorts last season and I thought Isaac was home in Missouri. Glad to see their doing well.

Oh and one question for everyone to weigh in on. Which of these guys do you think can or will make the transition to the NBA? I say Tony Easley will at some point since he played on the Minnesota Timberwolves summer circuit team. Any others?

What about James Singleton? Is he on anyone's NBA roster? All he does is put up good numbers when he gets a chance to play, but he always seems to be on the outside looking in.

Season not start yet practicing with Xinjiang.

James Singleton
Team: XINJIANG FLYING TIGERS
League: China-CBA

James Singleton will sign with Xinjiang in China.
Singleton had previously hinted that he could be headed to the Chinese league, saying "China will always be an option." In search of a more lucrative payday and a larger role than he would have earned stateside, Singleton will take his game back to the international ranks.

Rico can do too many things well to not be playing for money somewhere. He's one of the most complete guards I've seen in a Racer uniform.

He is still listed on the roster of the Erie Bay Hawks of the D-League.

It appears as though their season won't start until November 23 if I'm reading things correctly.
