Vegas has us a 6-1/2 ot fave right now. If I was a gambler which I’m not I’d be hard pressed to put my $ on us. Excited to see how we respond tonight and especially how the rotation goes as well as the result lol.

Bostick’s defense is excellent so far tonight.

Re: RACERS vs Jacksonville State Game Thread
The defensive intensity just slacked off after the 12 minute mark as coach is trying to rotate players in to find some bench magic. That was where the decent play eroded. Gotta generate turnovers to beat JSU because we aren’t going to outshoot them.
Hoping for the best (a win) and some consistent play going forward, but I keep getting that same feeling about this year’s team that I did in 2016. But, hey look what happened the years after those. Just have to remember that sometimes some
manure has to spread with the seeds to sprout a decent harvest.

Re: RACERS vs Jacksonville State Game Thread
indecision is killing our efficiency.
After jumping out to a 10-point lead, we've allowed JSU to drag us into a half-court offense (we're still not very good at this) and everyone looks scared to attack it OR shoot it. Lots of hesitation, stutter steps, almost-passes and telegraphed passing. After 5 or 6 trips like this in succession, our intensity left us and stayed at a lower level for the rest of the half.
Also, when we're passing around the perimeter and the defense rotates with the ball, we just stand in place on the back side. There are opportunities to cut to the basket for a lob - just no recognition.
We need to be more aggressive when our opponents go M2M and attack the rim. There's a better-than-average chance of getting to the charity stripe in this league with the added bonus of putting on of their players on the bench for extended periods of time.
McMullin is the only player on our team consistent with sealing out his man on a rebound.
Our best player was 1-4 from the FT line in the first half. 38% as a team.
I'm uneasy about the hot shooting from 3-point range culminating in us being down at the half.
Here's hoping things turn around in the 2nd half.

Is Gilmore injured or is it coaches decision not to play him?

We aren’t as good of a team on both ends when Bostick hits the bench.

Re: RACERS vs Jacksonville State Game Thread
We started off so strong and had intensity and I don't want to blame coach but his game management this time has me completely baffled. Daquan started off probably the strongest, but we play Juice and Chico, possibly the worst guard duo, the majority of the half.
And why the hell have we just stopped going inside? KJ was having a feast down there and now we have done nothing but shoot 3's.

Re: RACERS vs Jacksonville State Game Thread
Wayyyyy too many threes. Unbalanced offense. Chico is a nice spark playing the 2 and we are way better with Bostick out there, so he needs to be smart and work towards being able to play more minutes. I actually think tonight has been far from our worst performance of the year and that we’ve shown some flashes of progress. We’re just getting beat up by a team that is much better than us right now. What are we going to do about that moving forward?

Re: RACERS vs Jacksonville State Game Thread
When one of your bigs has zero rebounds with under 4 minutes to play, that’s a MAJOR problem.

Re: RACERS vs Jacksonville State Game Thread
Is it not just a coaching mistake to sit Bostick the last 5 minutes of the game?

I would say its because he can't hit the ocean if he threw a rock right now... but that would be the whole team also so I'm not sure.
