Can Payne just signed a 2-year deal to play for the Phoenix Suns!

Phoenix is in the playoff hunt.

Ja probably put any discussion about the Rookie of the Year award to rest with back to back games, where in one he got a triple-double, and followed it with 35 points in the next one. I expect more from him next year, as his body continues to mature.
 :salute:

It looks like Cam has solidified a position in Phoenix, where it appears he is going to be one of their go to guys, when he is in the game.

I believe the contract is quite small for him next year so he may opt out and look for something better.

Not sure opt out is the way he goes, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see them rework his deal. He has good chemistry with the coaches (they were in OKC when he was drafted). It’s so good to see him healthy and confident again.

While his contract is not a large one, he shouldn't opt out. I remember how much Toronto wanted him last year, and then tossed him aside in training camp. Based on his performance, he probably could get a small increase, or have it guaranteed. This may be his last shot, if he is with the wrong team. The way he was used by Phoenix fits his skills, and the coaching staff looks to have confidence in him. The only problem I would see is if Phoenix drafts a point guard, or signs one in free agency. If he is on a one year contract, and has a good full season to show what he can do, the money that teams offer him will be substantial.
